Adoption procedure

When prospective adoptive parents wish to adopt through Meiling, first of all an intake interview is held (after all of the requirements of the Ministry of Security and Justice have been met), during which the possibilities are discussed. After this interview, the couple is put on the central waiting list and moved to the waiting list for the country of their choice as soon as possible.

For each of the sending countries, we have a team of volunteers who maintain extensive contacts with the prospective adoptive parents. All aspects of the adoption process are discussed with the parents: the backgrounds of the children, the procedures involved, their motives for adoption, their expectations, etc.
